Amazonia

The Amazon rainforest is burning at a record pace. Brazil has declared a state of emergency to face the growing number of fires in the region. Green Cross Brazil and its network of partners is mobilizing to help minimize the effects of this tragedy. The organization will send donations to the areas where they are most needed, and will participate in efforts focused on protecting the area. Moeda is able to take part in the emergency efforts by applying Blockchain technology in a way that allows each donation to be tracked, ensuring transparency in the use of the funds that are raised. We count on your donation to save the Amazon rainforest.

In the long run, we will work with public and private sectors to structure the Amazon Belt Impact Fund and the AMZB token to secure ongoing investments in reforestation and institute sustainable practices to enrich local communities. We will also focus on offering support to the international campaign aimed at containing environmental, social and economic damages and cooperating with Amazon businesses, cooperatives, rural families, indigenous peoples and quilombola communities to accelerate their impact ventures through the Moeda Seeds Acceleration Program.

Project Impact

The Seed Project Amazon Belt will work in both short and long terms. Some of the emergency measures involve sending donations of medical supplies and support to local communities affected by fires. Furthermore, along with the Rainforest Alliance, we will be dispatching donations for containing fires and stemming deforestation to the Brazilian Amazon action group, including the Brazilian chapter of our partner from the COICA indigenous federation, our long-term sustainable agriculture partner, Imaflora, and a number of other groups including the Socio-Environmental Institute, Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM), the Health and Joy Project, Imazonand the various NGOs that are working to defend the Amazon and guarantee indigenous rights.
